A Thai Sabbath

Jon DybdahlThere are small groups of Thai and other Southeast Asian Adventists across California and neighboring states. They are not great in numbers, but their faith is great. We bore witness to their great faith this past Sabbath as the Hollywood Church played host to over 100 Thai, Hmong and Laotion Adventists from as far away as Arizona and San Jose and as nearby as Hollywood.

The members of the Hollywood Church blended their worship with that of the Thai church as we held our first Mission Convocation, emphasizing the mission our church has in Thai Town. Naturally, we enjoyed an amazing lunch and the fellowship was rich. Jon Dybdahl, pictured here, spoke at the 11 o’clock service and at an afternoon meeting. On Sunday morning he and his wife, Kathy, met with the Hollywood Church board to hear about our missional transformation process and give advice and encouragement.

It was a rich weekend and something we hope to repeat in future years.
