Ryan Bell, Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor Ryan Bell

Ryan Bell has been a pastor since 1994 and served three congregations before becoming Senior Pastor of Hollywood Seventh-day Adventist Church in June 2005. In 2000 he received his Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University and in 2010 his Doctor of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Interreligious Council of Southern California, the advisory board of the Guibord Center: Religion Inside Out and as a member of the Abrahamic Faiths Peacemaking Initiative. Bell is a clergy leader with LA Voice/PICO and writes for a wide range of publications, including The Huffington Post and The Hillhurst Review as well as his personal blog called, Intersections. Ryan lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.

Syd Shook, Assistant Pastor for Discipleship and Community Engagement

Syd Shook
Syd Shook joined the Hollywood Adventist Church in 2011 after friends she met in the Dominican Republic encouraged her to visit. Before joining the church she co-directed an international community development non-profit, Communityfor, in partnership with Community of Faith Church. She is currently studying for an MA in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary and enjoys looking for ways to connect faith and practice. She works occasionally as an actor and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, David, and their chihuahua, Okie Doke.

Vienna Cornish
Vienna began attending the Hollywood Adventist Church in 2009 on the recommendation of a college friend after moving to Los Angeles from Northern California. After spending the majority of her youth on a small farm in Idaho where she appreciated a unique and varied childhood, she studied Film Production and French at Pacific Union College. Vienna is passionate about creation in its many forms, and as Administrator enjoys learning and exploring life through the unlimited range of situations presented to her at the church in the heart of such a diverse city.
